Job Description

  • $250K - $270K + Super + Vehicle
  • Brisbane HQ Based + Self-Directed Periodic Regional Travel

Step out of day-to-day project delivery and into a senior leadership role where you’ll guide Project Managers, influence major regional infrastructure outcomes, and be backed by a secure pipeline of government-funded work.

This is a strong next step for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager who is ready to move beyond running individual projects and start leading through others across complex civil infrastructure programs.

We’re partnering with a privately owned civil construction business to find a Construction Manager who can support, challenge, and guide Project Managers delivering large-scale regional infrastructure projects across Australia.

“Good brand and excellent employees to work with” – Site Manager

What Sets This Role Apart

  • This role is valuable because you’ll step into a visible senior leadership position with influence across multiple regional infrastructure projects, rather than being tied to one site or package.
  • You will build stronger Project Managers, capable site teams, trusted client relationships, and a reputation for delivering complex regional work well.
  • You will learn how to lead at a broader operational level, balancing commercial performance, delivery risk, client expectations, and team capability across several live projects.
  • You will own the support, guidance, and delivery rhythm that helps Project Managers keep projects moving from mobilisation through to handover.
  • You will influence project outcomes, team culture, client confidence, subcontractor performance, safety standards, and the way work is delivered across regional Australia.
  • You will become stronger at leading through others, commercial oversight, project recovery, stakeholder management, and making practical decisions in complex delivery environments.
  • You will be closer to senior decision-making, long-term business planning, and a leadership team that values autonomy, accountability, and straight-talking delivery experience.
  • You will be able to say you did meaningful civil infrastructure work that supports regional communities and helped shape the next generation of project leaders.

What You’ll Do

As part of the Senior Management team, you will manage and support Project Managers responsible for regional projects, helping them organise site teams, engineers, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors to deliver complex infrastructure works safely, commercially, and to a high standard.

  • Support Project Managers & teams in delivering civil & structural projects across regional Australia
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, procurement, supplier engagement & quality control
  • Develop & implement programs, monitoring progress against targets
  • Liaise with clients, consultants & subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery

What’s in it for You

  • A leadership role of influence with a growing civil construction company
  • Career progression opportunity with a positive, no-nonsense team
  • Additional leave + mature approach to flexibility
  • Secure, government-funded portfolio through to 2028

“Good salary and benefits for employees. They’re a good bunch of people to work with.”

About You

  • You have 10+ years’ experience delivering civil infrastructure projects with principal contractors and/or subcontractors.
  • You’re ready to move beyond direct project delivery and lead through Project Managers, site teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • You’ve worked across areas such as bridges, rail, pipelines, roads, concrete works, renewable energy, earthworks, or similar infrastructure projects.
  • You have experience delivering self-perform works and understand the practical realities of site-based delivery.
  • You can read drawings, interpret plans, and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.
  • You’re confident with programming, cost control, procurement, quality control, forecasting, and supplier engagement.
  • You have a strong safety record and take pride in delivering work to a high standard.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is desirable.
