Job Description
Operations Manager – Subdivisions & Urban Development
Lead. Grow. Excel — alongside a Director who backs his people.
Are you a Civil Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer with strong subdivision and urban works experience, ready for a fresh challenge? You’ll join a specialist civil contractor that combines the agility of a smaller business with the sophistication of large-scale projects. Work side-by-side with a smart, supportive Director who invests in his team, and help deliver outstanding projects across South-East Queensland.
About the Company
-
A forward-thinking civil contractor delivering residential and urban development projects, including subdivisions, townhouse developments, roads and infrastructure.
-
The business prides itself on a people-first culture: small enough to give visibility and impact, but experienced enough to handle complex, high-quality projects.
-
For someone from a Tier 1, 2 or 3 urban background, this is a chance to experience strategic project delivery with less bureaucracy, more influence, and faster career growth.
-
Innovation, collaboration, and quality are at the heart of the business, with a focus on developing people as well as projects.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll:
-
Lead and support the project team in delivering subdivision and urban development projects from start to finish
-
Be the key client-facing contact: building strong relationships with developers, consultants, subcontractors and clients
-
Oversee budgets, forecasts and project performance, working closely with the Director to meet high standards of delivery
-
Implement and refine systems, processes and workflows to boost efficiency, quality and safety
-
Thrive in a hands-on environment where you’ll contribute your technical experience, mentor others and take your leadership skills to the next level
About You
-
Degree-qualified Civil Engineer (essential)
-
Proven experience in subdivision or urban civil infrastructure delivery as Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager
-
Commercially savvy: comfortable with budgets, reporting, performance metrics
-
Strong communicator who can engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors and crews
-
Mentoring mindset: able to develop and support Project Engineers and Project Supervisors
-
Motivated for growth, wanting to excel in a role with increasing responsibility and impact
Why You’ll Love It
-
Join a business where your voice is heard, your ideas matter, and you’ll be mentored by a Director who invests in his team
-
Deliver projects that showcase your skills and past experience—whether you’ve come from a large contractor or a smaller specialist firm
-
Build and nurture your professional network, working across developers, consultants, subcontractors and major clients
-
Growth opportunity: the chance to elevate your career, expand your leadership, and be part of shaping the team and culture
-
Attractive culture and environment: a strong foundation, but not so big that you lose your impact or become a small cog in a large wheel
