ECC work on critical infrastructure that is vital for region’s ratepayers and to ensure quality of life for all. ECC focus on complex, challenging projects where Civil Construction and Water Infrastructure intersect.
They deliver trunk main upgrades, water main renewals, horizontal directional drilling, pit and pipe installation, associated concrete works and are branching into sewer and water treatment upgrades.
60% of their work is direct with Unity Water but they are also one of Downer’s preferred contracting partners and currently engaged in the Better Build Program they manage on behalf of Unity Water. ECC also have a strong track record of delivering projects for Sunshine Coast Council, City of Moreton and Urban Utilities.

The Opportunity
ECC are seeking a full-time Project Engineer, offering long-term stability, genuine career growth, and access to nationally recognised training for the successful candidates.
You will join an energetic, close-knit and professional team where your contribution will be valued and your impact will be visible. Working alongside the General Manager and Director, this role will see you play a key part in shaping the business’s continued success.
About the Role
We’re looking for individuals who want to take ownership, build capability, and lead with accountability. You will:
- Experience as a Project Engineer with a high level of knowledge in the Water & Sewer industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex Water, Sewer & STP projects on time and within budget
- Understanding in project management, planning, scheduling, and cost control.
- Have a strong technical background and able to comprehend complex designs
- Strong leadership and site management skills, with ability to work closely with supervisors and other contractors.
- Proven experience in estimating, tender proposals and submissions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, performance standards and specifications.
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, or a related trade background.
- Focus & commitment to safety and quality standards.

Richard is passionate about mentoring his team and helping others reach their potential while maintaining a positive and down-to-earth work environment. Away from work, Richard enjoys spending time outdoors with his two kids – camping, boating and travelling whenever he can.
Lee Stutt – Owner
Lee, originally from Bristol in England, moved to Australia over 12 years ago and hasn’t looked back. He began his career in plumbing and has hands on experience spanning trades work through to construction supervision, working with reputable companies such as Unity Water and Service Stream. Lee is a caring and compassionate human who works hard and leads by example, passing on his knowledge and wisdom to support his team and clients.
Away from work you will mainly find Lee spending time with his wife and 4 x sons (12 to 18yo).
