“Plans & Drawings Officer – Immediate start: 4 to 6 Month Contract

Senior Civil Design Drafter with strong AutoCAD skills and experience

$80/hour + Super

About the Company

Join this leading water authority who are responsible for the bulk water supply to over three million people and manage a vast network of dams, weirs, treatment plants, and pipelines in Southeast Queensland. Working alongside their team you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of critical water infrastructure projects that secure vital resources for the region.

 

The Opportunity

You'll be the go-to person for all things drawings. This role involves meticulously reviewing engineering drawings prepared by external consultants, ensuring they adhere to strict industry standards. You'll also be responsible for allocating drawing numbers, issuing files, uploading updates, and performing minor edits using AutoCAD.

 

What You'll Do

• Spend a significant portion of your day reviewing and checking engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Assign drawing numbers, manage file distribution, and upload updates to the system.
• Make minor edits to existing drawings using AutoCAD (experience a plus!).
• Potentially assist with managing external contractors for more significant drawing updates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure drawing requirements are met.

• While AutoCAD experience is preferred, a willingness to learn is valued.
• You have excellent communication skills and can write clear reports.
• You're a self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines.
