Civil Construction Manager

This is an opportunity to step into a senior civil leadership role with a well-established, privately owned developer delivering townhouse and subdivision projects across Southeast Queensland.

With more than 25 years of consistent delivery, this business operates a fully integrated model, managing land acquisition, approvals, civil works, building and sales in-house. As part of a planned growth phase, they are now seeking an experienced civil professional to lead their civil construction function and support the next stage of the business.

The Role

As Civil Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for all civil construction activities across the group. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll oversee safety, delivery, commercial performance and team leadership across multiple concurrent sites.

Over time, this role is expected to develop into a General Manager–level position, with access to longer-term incentives and potential participation in project performance.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Own and lead safety outcomes across all civil operations
• Maintain and enforce WHS policies and training programs
• Ensure incidents are reported, investigated and addressed appropriately

Project Delivery

• Oversee planning, scheduling and execution of multiple concurrent civil sites
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to AR standards
• Drive quality assurance, systems compliance and continuous improvement

Financial & Commercial

• Manage budgets, forecasting and cost control across the civil program
• Secure favourable supplier and trade agreements
• Monitor production costs and approve variations or overruns where required

People & Leadership

• Lead and develop the civil team, setting cadence, standards and culture
• Allocate resources effectively across sites
• Provide performance feedback, mentoring and development pathways
• Ensure timesheets, leave and reviews are managed in line with procedures

The Projects

• Subdivision and civil infrastructure works delivered in-house

• Developments typically ranging from 40 to 400 dwellings per site

• Works include bulk earthworks, roads and pavements, sewer, stormwater, plumbing and electrical

• A secured four-year pipeline across Greater Brisbane, with strong activity in Ipswich and Logan

• Annual civil turnover currently ~$20M, with planned growth toward $30M

You’ll be supported by modern plant and equipment, including Trimble and GPS systems, and long-standing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

About You

You will be a grounded, practical civil construction professional with strong leadership capability and a hands-on approach and demonstrate:

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior civil construction role
• Proven experience managing multiple subdivision or civil sites concurrently
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and sequencing
• Solid commercial acumen across budgeting, forecasting and cost control
• Engineer or supervisory background with strong people leadership skills
• A genuine commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Confidence leading teams, setting standards and driving performance

The Role

Estimator – Civil Infrastructure

Location: Building 14, Ground Level, 2728 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains

This role sits within a rapidly growing team delivering major civil infrastructure projects. As an Estimator, you will prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates across a range of civil works, helping ensure profitability while supporting Unyte’s continued expansion.

You’ll work closely with bid managers, project management, procurement and operations teams to develop winning tenders and robust delivery strategies.

Your Everyday

• Review tender documents and manage quantity take-offs
• Prepare detailed estimates using Expert Estimation software
• Develop construction methodologies and staging plans
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
• Identify risks and opportunities and propose innovative solutions
• Participate in tender reviews and client negotiations
• Support onboarding and mentoring of junior estimators
• Work with Construction Managers to develop first-principle estimates and validate buildability assumptions
• Proactively communicate with Bid Managers to shape compelling tenders aligned with client objectives

About You

You’re an experienced civil estimator who enjoys working through complex scopes and contributing to high-quality, competitive bids.

Your background will include:

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in civil estimating and tender preparation
• Strong understanding of construction methods, material costs and industry standards
• A passion for first-principles estimating to drive accuracy and value
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
• A collaborative, adaptable approach with strong communication skills

Up to $300K + Super + Bonus | National Role | Fast-Growth Infrastructure Owner

You’ll oversee the rollout of new and upgraded facilities nationwide - managing a busy pipeline of up to 20 projects a year and an annual program worth around $30M.

From site acquisition through to commissioning, you’ll be the one driving outcomes, maintaining accountability, and keeping momentum high.

• Lead end-to-end delivery for projects - from planning and approvals through to handover.
