Unyte is owned by Symal Group, an ASX-listed national construction, equipment hire and building materials business with a market capitalisation of over $800 million. Founded in 2001 by Joe Bartolo, Symal started from genuinely humble beginnings – a borrowed shovel, a wheelbarrow and a Toyota HiLux – and has grown into a business employing around 1,000 people across Victoria, NSW, South Australia and Queensland. Today, the group delivers civil construction, renewables, airports, data centres and major transport infrastructure, alongside equipment hire, recycling and quarry operations. Despite its scale and growth, Symal remains grounded in the practical, hands-on approach that shaped the business from day one.
