Are you ready to explore the road less travelled? This is your opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful and diverse regions in Queensland.
We’re partnering with an established infrastructure delivery consultancy to secure a Works Inspector to support Local Government infrastructure upgrades across Central Queensland. If you’re looking for meaningful work, strong autonomy and a refreshing change from the usual metro projects, this could be the role for you.
"It's an incredible experience to be part of an innovative and supportive project management team."
What Sets This Role Apart
This role gives you genuine ownership of end-to-end delivery across a varied regional infrastructure program, without requiring a full-time move away from Brisbane. You’ll build stronger client-side leadership, sharpen your contract administration and verification capability, influence outcomes that matter to local communities, and become stronger at navigating complex stakeholders, compliance requirements and construction delivery challenges. Most importantly, you’ll be able to say you helped deliver practical, visible upgrades that improve safety, access and liveability across one of Queensland’s most distinctive regions.
What You’ll Do
Work across the full project lifecycle, from contractor procurement through to construction completion and close-out. The work will draw on your technical judgement, stakeholder confidence and commercial discipline, giving you the space to make decisions, solve problems and keep things moving.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, procurement and coordination from tender preparation through to practical completion.
- Manage contract administration, RFIs, variations, progress meetings, documentation control, reporting and contractor performance.
- Coordinate with technical consultants, authorities, internal teams, utilities, emergency services, landholders and community stakeholders to keep delivery aligned and issues moving.
- Oversee construction surveillance, inspections, QA documentation, test results and verification of works against approved designs, specifications and Council requirements.
- Drive risk, safety, environmental, compliance, financial and close-out activities across a varied program of regional civil infrastructure works.
About You
You’ll suit this role if you enjoy taking ownership, working with complexity and staying calm when priorities shift. You’ll be someone who can think logically, creatively and laterally, while bringing people with you through clear communication, sound judgement and a solutions-focused approach.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management.
- Extensive experience in medium to large-scale infrastructure planning and construction delivery.
- DTMR project experience and a working knowledge of DTMR standards and specifications.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including conflict resolution and the ability to drive positive outcomes.
- Flexibility to travel and adjust hours in line with project and industry requirements.
About the Company
You’ll be joining a specialist project delivery environment known for supporting complex infrastructure, asset management and capital works programs from early planning through to operations and maintenance. Collaboration sits at the centre of the way the team works, creating strong engagement across technical, corporate and community stakeholders while helping deliver practical outcomes that add real value.
